Abstract

Motivated in this paper is the practicability of introducing «metascience» concept while developing knowledge database concerning historiography of science and technology. Introduction of the concept is caused by contradiction which lies in the necessity of classes, relations and domains definition in the subject being under consideration (which are science and technology), as well as in historiographical toolkit, which is used in the process of such research. In order to make the procedure of knowledge database development more simple, we propose the method of historiographical research using information-cybernetic models. According to this method, science is the process of detection of excessiveness of the outworld and fixation of its invariant properties in the global system of scientific knowledge.
