Abstract

The problem of estimation of kinetic energy losses for 3D flows with significant inlet cross-flow nonuniformity of total parameters and intensive mixing is considered. Using conventional techniques of losses calculation based on available and real heat drops is noted to result in large errors caused by inaccuracy in determination of adiabatic flow parameters for each flow trick. Several techniques for losses determination are considered. They are based on entropy increase in flowpaths and are free from the defect mentioned above
