Кафедра "Міжкультурна комунікація та іноземна мова" була відкрита 2 лютого 2004 року.

Кафедра ставить за мету отримання студентами інтегрованих знань у сфері іноземних мов, міжкультурної комунікації, Інтернет-комунікації, медіа-комунікації та PR-комунікації.

Кафедра входить до складу Навчально-наукового інституту міжнародної освіти Національного технічного університету "Харківський політехнічний інститут". Кафедрою створена мережа міжнародного партнерства, до якої було залучено понад 20 зарубіжних університетів, організацій та професійних фундацій. Унікальний досвід, здобутий проєктною командою кафедри в межах міжнародного співробітництва, дає підставу вважати її конкурентоспроможною на ринку освітніх послуг, яка здійснює навчальну діяльність на рівні міжнародних стандартів.

У складі науково-педагогічного колективу кафедри працюють: 1 доктор філологічних наук, 1 доктор психологічних наук, 8 кандидатів філологічних наук; 1 співробітник має звання професора, 4 – доцента.

    Curriculum optimization on the basis of a multidisciplinary approach

    The aim of the study is to find ways of specialty curriculum optimization on the basis of a multidisciplinary approach. The state of the art is characterized by the lack of well-defined criteria for the synergistic integration of disciplines within the specialty curriculum, which necessitated the solution of the following issues: in relation to which system-forming factor to compare disciplines; how to take into account the indirect contribution of a discipline to achieving the ultimate goal of the student’s development; how to measure the efficiency/weight of the discipline in the situation of selection. To deal with these issues, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis of literature; system (quantitative and qualitative) analysis of the National Qualifications Framework, Education Standards, specialty curricula and technical discipline work programs formats and content; activity analysis of the Education Quality Guarantors, curriculum developers and lecturers of disciplines on the basis of structured questionnaires. The obtained results were compared with the efficiency of students’ training based on the correlation and factor analysis. The study allowed determining the system-forming factor in relation to which the comparison of disciplines is performed in the situation of selection; finding a way of considering the discipline direct and indirect contribution to the development of students’ strategic competences; devising a formula for measuring the discipline weight in the context of the specialty curriculum. The study revealed a direct dependence of the discipline weight on the methods of its teaching and the synergistic effect of the student development from the interaction of disciplines selected on the basis of the proposed principles. The application of the obtained results will allow optimizing specialty curricula, which will improve the quality of the education and free up time for students’ self-development. The study of the multidisciplinary approach significance has proven its inexhaustibility as a source of new scientific research.

    Дистанційне навчання як виклик часу: досвід е-навчання під час пандемії COVID-19

    Представлений системний аналіз відповідей на виклики, що виникли у зв'язку з необхідністю переходу на дистанційне навчання під час карантину через COVID-19. Наведено стан на початок карантину і покрокова стратегія переходу згідно з етапами підготовки, узгодження правил, роботи з персоналом, технологічного забезпечення, планування навчального процесу, створення контенту, забезпечення якості. Представлено результати опитування, що виявили проблеми і можливі кроки їх подолання. Наведено інноваційну модель організації технологічного навчального середовища для якісної е-трансформації навчання.

    Psychological science challanges in modern digital training environment

    The article is devoted to the efficiency of students’ cognitive and personality development within University traditional training and e-learning online that are based on the subject-centred or human-centred models. The research relevance is explained by the unprecedented growth of the digital mode of knowledge acquisition that has revealed misbalance between new technical possibilities and psycho-pedagogical competence of training courses developers. An urgent need of interdisciplinary interaction aimed at the training environment creation with consideration of the psychological laws of human memory and thinking functioning appeared. It is proposed the working human-centred model of students’ cognitive and personal development under condition of system e-learning online that is built on the bases of psycho-pedagogical laws of eco-humanistic self-development. The research is based on the longitude training experiment that was organized within real university training including e-learning online. The results were processed mathematically. The efficiency of the cognitive development was measured by the complexity of the individual sense-cognitive scheme formed within training, by the level of metacognitive competence, by the efficiency of subject task solving. The efficiency of the personality development was measured by the level of personal sense development, abilities and qualities that are professionally, socially and existentially significant. The results obtained proved advantage of the training that is based on the psycho-pedagogical student-centred model over the subject-centred training. The developmental effect of the human-centred e-learning has left behind the subject-centred training supported by platforms with orientation to their technical capability.

Розкрито основні концепції, підходи та моделі породження та сприйняття мовленнєвого висловлювання. Визначено одиницю мовленнєвої діяльності. Розглянуто процесуальні характеристики мовленнєвих дій усіх видів мовленнєвої діяльності. Зазначено вплив механізму породження та сприйняття іншомовного висловлювання на формування мовленнєвої компетентності.

    The article is devoted to the problem of students’ social and emotional intelligence formation in the course of personal efficiency development. Interactive training activity is based on eco-humanistic technology aimed at students’ conscious self-development. It is proposed five-stage circle that modals real conditions of self-development in everydayness. Students are considered as efficient agents of positive changes who are motivated in developing their professional and social environment as a condition of their cognitive and personal development. The whole process is based on the psychological patterns of human-environment interdevelopment.

    The article is devoted to the problem of reorientation of university education from a traditional subject-centered to innovative student-centered learning. Since the student is the system-forming factor in this interaction, the study of the characteristics of modern students becomes especially relevant. The article presents the results of the study of semantic, cognitive and personal characteristics of modern students with recommendations for the use of both positive and negative trends in the effective organization of the educational process.

    Development of students’ thinking in the course of mastering educational subjects

    The article is devoted to the problem of the students' thinking development. An innovative approach to the development of students' thinking in the very course of mastering specific disciplines is proposed. Such development is possible through special tasks that require mental activities that invest into different types of thinking and intellectual abilities. Frequent repetition of such actions in the process of solving academic subject problems successfully, first in a controlled external and then in a self-controlled internal plan, leads to the gradual integration of internal actions into the mental resources of the individual. A specific example of tasks for the development of analytical, hypothetical, critical thinking and key intellectual ability to generalize within the discipline "Foreign language of a professional orientation" is given. The prospect of research lies in the practical use of the discovered thinking patterns development for the purpose of academic subject tasks creation.

    E-technologies for transformation of acquired knowledge into automated skills

    The article is devoted to the problem of acquired knowledge automation as a condition of the transformation of theory into practice in real life. The proposed approach, unlike with the traditional skill developing through frequent mechanical repetition of the pattern, is based on the innovative idea of conscious knowledge automation in the process of solving learning objectives that require solution estimate of efficiency. The phased developing strategy of the skill reposes in gradually curtailment the detailed analytical learning activities, carried out firstly in writing and then in oral form, with a gradual complication of the solution on account of a reduction in assistance in the form of instructions, mind maps, audio recordings of the model answers. There is a transition from a learning situation to a practical one with the transformation of analytical actions into a practical skill. Conscious mental actions are being automated, that allows returning to the conscious mode in case of an error or the need for new non-standard tasks solution. The prospect is to transfer innovative knowledge automation technology to other subject areas.
