Abstract

The tutorial presents the basic concepts, provisions and terms of the theory of cutting. The physical phenomena that accompany the cutting process and determine the cutting efficiency are analyzed. The tutorial considers the design, geometry and material of cutting tools, as well as their rational use for machining processes in accordance with the requirements of accuracy and quality of processing.
