dc.description.abstractСтатья посвящена анализу результатов эмпирического социологического исследования этнической ксенофобии (этнофобии) жителей г. Харькова. Исследование показало, что этнофобия воспринимается харьковчанами как проблема по сравнению с другими видами ксенофобии. Основными ее проявлениями является вербальная агрессия и игнорирование, от которого чаще всего страдают цыгане, арабы и кавказские этносы. Наибольший уровень толерантности харьковчане проявляют к славянским этносом, что объясняется историческим опытом совместного проживания. Основными характеристиками горожан, влияющими на их этнофобные установки, являются пол, возраст, уровень образования.ru
dc.description.abstractThe article analyzes the results of empirical sociological research concerning ethnic xenophobia (ethnophobia) of Kharkiv residents. The study revealed that residents of Kharkov perceive ethnophobia as a problem, compared with other forms of xenophobia. Its main manifestation is verbal aggression and neglect, from which Roma, Arabs and ethnic groups of the Caucasus often suffer. One of the new forms of ethnophobia is racial (ethnic) profiling. Racial profiling refers to the discriminatory practice by law enforcement officials of targeting individuals for suspicion of crime based on the individual’s race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. Criminal profiling, generally, as practiced by police, is the reliance on a group of characteristics they believe to be associated with crime.The most biased attitudes, according to respondents, police appears towards Roma, Caucasian ethnicities and Arabs. The highest level of tolerance respondents feel to the Slavic ethnic group that is explained by the historical experience of living together. The main characteristics of the citizens, affecting their ethnophobia attitudes are gender, age and level of education.en
