Від 2000 року кафедра має назву "Промислова і біомедична електроніка", первісна назва – "Промислова електроніка".
Кафедра "Промислова електроніка" виділилася як самостійна одиниця 9 жовтня 1963 року внаслідок розділу кафедри електрифікації промислових підприємств на дві самостійні. Ведення навчального процесу з дисципліни "Промислова електроніка" раніше було доручено кафедрі електрифікації промислових підприємств, де цю роботу очолив талановитий педагог та дослідник Олег Олексійович Маєвський.
Кафедра входить до складу Навчально-наукового інституту енергетики, електроніки та електромеханіки Національного технічного університету "Харківський політехнічний інститут". Усього за шістьдесят років було підготовлено 8 докторів та 65 кандидатів технічних наук.
У складі науково-педагогічного колективу кафедри працюють: 3 доктора технічних наук, 13 кандидатів технічних наук; 3 співробітника мають звання професора, 11 – доцента.

Документ 18-Pulse rectifier with electronic phase shifting and pulse width modulation(2018) Sokol, Yevgen I.; Zamaruiev, Volodymyr V.; Ivakhno, Volodymyr V.; Voitovych, Yurii S.; Butova, Olha; Makarov, VadimAt present, 12-pulse rectifiers with electronic phase shift are known. Unlike classic rectifiers, they do not use phase-shifting transformers and have a unit power factor. Increasing of the rectifier’s pulse makes it possible to improve the harmonic composition of the input current. This article is devoted to the study of the operation of an 18-pulse rectifier with an electronic phase shift. The use of the principle of electronic phase shift leads to different levels of constant voltage at the output of the rectifiers. The introduction of pulse-width modulation contributes to equalizing the output voltages of the 6-pulse rectifiers which are the parts of the converter. In addition, the use of the pulse-width modulation allows eliminating matching magnetic elements which are used to equalize rectifiers output voltages. This improves the mass and dimension parameters of the converter. They require the presence of phase-shifting transformers or autotransformers. Elimination of electromagnetic phase-shifting devices while maintaining small harmonic distortion of the input current and obtaining a power factor close to unity is possible with the use of electronic phase shift. The electronic phase shift is realized by means of the rectifier itself: the introduction of positive and negative control angles in the pairs of rectifiers’ modules. At present, 12-pulse rectifiers with electronic phase shift are known. Unlike classic rectifiers, they do not use phase-shifting transformers and have a unit power factor. Increasing of the rectifier’s pulse makes it possible to improve the harmonic composition of the input current. The use of the principle of electronic phase shift in 18-pulse rectifier leads to different levels of constant voltage at the output of the rectifiers. In this case, to equalize the currents of rectifiers’ modules, one can use both an increase the voltage at the input of rectifiers operating with large control angles and a decrease the input voltage of the rectifiers operating with smaller control angles. The principles of constructing of matching autotransformers for the 18-pulse rectifier with an electronic phase shift are considered in the article. Comparison of 18-pulse rectifiers with use of step-up and step-down autotransformers is made. Data on the installed capacity of autotransformers, power losses are obtained. The results of thermophysical modeling are presented. Исключение электромагнитных фазосдвигающих устройств при сохранении малых гармонических искажений входного тока и получении близкого к единице коэффициента мощности, возможно при использовании электронного сдвига фаз. В статье рассмотрены принципы построения многопульсных выпрямителей с электронным сдвиг фаз, который осуществляется средствами самого выпрямителя: введением положительных и отрицательных углов управления. В этом случае, для выравнивания токов отдельных выпрямителей может применяться как повышение напряжения на входе выпрямителей, работающих с большими углами управления, так и понижение входного или выходного напряжения выпрямителей, работающих с меньшими углами управления. Проведено сравнение выпрямителей с использованием повышающих и понижающих автотрансформаторов. Получены данные об установленной мощности автотрансформаторов, мощности потерь. The pulsating mode of the power consumption in the railroad power supply network is the cause of the occurrence of voltage pulsations in the contact network. The use of active rectifiers in the electric power supply system of the railroad is proposed. The control system is developed by the converter, which allows to stabilize the output voltage in the DC link and also provides the unit power factor consumed by the converter and the THD consumption current at the level of 8%. A.The results of mathematical modeling of the electric field of overhead power transmission lines (TL) are presented taking into account presence of towers and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for various cases of the TL lines layout: vertical, horizontal and triangular. Numerical calculations of electric field (EF) were performed using finite integration technique and uniaxial perfectly matched layer. In this case the TL lines under the electrical potential were replaced by linear charges located on their axes. The obtained numerical results for the case of towers and UAV absence were compared with the analytical solutions, which showed coincidence of the EF strength moduli within the range of the assigned accuracy of the numerical calculations– 3%. The results of calculations are necessary to determine the flight height of UAVs, safe from the point of view of electromagnetic compatibility of the on-board electronics to influence of the TL EF and TL towers.Документ The concept of a hybrid traction power supply system(2019) Sychenko, Viktor; Kuznetsov, Valeriy; Kosarev, Yevheniy; Beh, Petro; Sayenko, Yuriy; Styslo, Bohdan; Pavlichenko, Mihail; Vasilev, Ihor; Pulin, MykolaThe growing shortage of energy resources to provide heavy traffic and high-speed traffic necessitates the development of a new power supply scheme for a traction network using sources of distributed generation of electric energy. Application of asymmetric distributed traction power system with the use of distributed generation allows to increase electric energy efficiency of the feed system of rolling stock, reduce its material capacity and increase the reliability of the functioning of the railway system as a whole. The proposed structure of the hybrid electric traction system involves the creation of a new paradigm aimed at ensuring high demands on the voltage and specific power in the traction network, which will allow to improve the quality and safety of the transportation process when increasing the energy performance indicators. This paradigm will allow to form a new philosophy of building traction power systems. The key elements of this philosophy are decentralization of generation and consumption of electric energy, the use of intelligent electric equipment, distributed power supply management in a single information space of the energy process during transportation. The peculiarity of the proposed work is the optimal combination of technological processes of transmission, consumption of electric energy and transportation, taking into account the specific conditions of functioning of the electrified section: points of connection of power sources and their type, profile of the track, schedule of trains, types of rolling stock and equipment. Conceptually, the hybrid traction power system is an electric hub, in which the inputs are generating points, and the output is the power supply system of the rolling stock. The internal structure of the electric power objects of the hub is determined by the type of transformation and accumulation of electric energy and ways of managing these objects in real time.Документ Covariance Analysis of Bioimpedance Signals for Information Support of Ultrafiltration Procedure(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 2018) Tomashevskyi, Roman S.In the paper, the rationale and development of a noninvasive information technology for covariance analysis and control of transient regimes in the patient's biophysical state during the ultrafiltration procedure is given. The analysis of the standard procedure of ultrafiltration during programmed hemodialysis was carried out. Based on the biophysical model of the hydration level of the patient, the specific phases of the ultrafiltration procedure are determined. A comparative analysis of hematocrit level at different phases of the procedure and signals of bioimpedancometry was carried out. To analyze the bioimpedancometry signals at different frequencies, a covariance analysis was used. The use of F-statistics as an information parameter allows non-invasive control of the phase change of the ultrafiltration procedure and the patient's transition to the precritical state. The approach proposed in the work allows us to distinguish the trends of the random bioimpedancometry signal and to monitor the course of the ultrafiltration procedure using the specified decision-making risks.Документ Crystal Structure of Nanoscale Tin Dioxide Films Produced by Magnetron Sputtering(Kyiv polytechnic institute, 2014) Sokol, Yevgen I. ; Pirohov, O. S.Investigation of direct current magnetron sputtering parameters effects on the crystal structure of gas sensitive tin dioxide films has revealed that the change in the substrate temperature and in the film thickness leads to the transition from the condensation of metastable conglomerates of amorphous globules to the ≈15 nm SnO₂ crystallites with three-dimensional shape and well-defined edges. The dependence of the SnO₂ structure from the working Ar-O₂ gas mixtures and from their humidity evidences the significant role of the adsorption in the kinetics of the magnetron sputtering of tin dioxide. Information technologies allow multidimensional analysis of information about the state of the power system in a single information space in terms of providing network-centric approach to control and use of unmanned aerial vehicles as tools for condition monitoring of three-phase network. Methodology. The idea of energy processes in three independent (rather than four dependent) curves vector-functions with values in the arithmetic three-dimensional space adequately for both 4-wire and 3–wire circuits. The presence of zero sequence current structural (and mathematically) features a 4-wire scheme of energy from a 3-wire circuit. The zero sequence voltage caused by the displacement of the zero voltage phases. Offset zero in the calculations can be taken into account by appropriate selection of the reference voltages. Both of these energetic phenomena with common methodical positions are described in the framework of the general mathematical model, in which a significant role is played by the ort zero sequence. Results. Vector approach with a unified voice allows us to obtain and analyze new energy characteristics for 4–wire and 3–wire circuits in sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal mode, both in temporal and frequency domain. Originality. Symmetric sinusoidal mode is balanced, even with non-zero reactive power. The converse is not true. The mode can be balanced and unbalanced load. The mode can be balanced and unbalanced voltage. Practical value. Конвертор має асиметричну структуру в ланці вихідного інвертора. Керування ключами двох ланок здійснюється із фазовим зсувом. Забезпечення режиму м’якої комутації силових ключів обох ланок перетворювача при малій потужності навантаження відбувається без надмірного значення величини намагнічуючого або циркулюючого струму. Новий принцип керування перетворювачем дозволяє забезпечувати режими м’якої комутації ключів обох ланок при широкому діапазоні зміни струму, у тому числі при близького до нуля значенні навантаження. Режим роботи перетворювача має короткий додатковий інтервал комутації, що мінімізує циркуляцію енергії. Цей інтервал забезпечує перезаряджання снаберної ємності на стороні інвертора напруги. Рішення спрямоване на зменшення проблеми високої циркулюючої енергії в існуючих топологіях ШІМ при невеликому навантаженні. Для запропонованого рішення кількість циркулюючої енергії адаптується до навантаження, що призводить до високої ефективності в діапазоні можливих робочих точок. Надано основні критерії та методику розрахунку параметрів схеми а також мінімальних інтервалів провідності ключів перетворювача. S.; Kholod, O. I.Checking the efficiency of the active rectifier with differences types of control systems in conditions of deep voltage distortions of a three-phase three-wire supply network. Methodology. The authors have used the Matlab/Simulink software environment to create a model of an active rectifier with various types of control systems as part of a frequency electric drive. We performed a series of simulations of the operating modes of an active rectifier with various control systems when the supply voltage is distorted. Results. When the active rectifier is operating in an unregulated mode, the distortions of the current and mains voltage exceed the maximum permissible values. The quality indicators of the mains current and mains voltage are significantly higher than the normally permissible values. In the absence of voltage distortions in the supply network, the operation of the active rectifier can effectively eliminate the distortions of the mains current, regardless of the type of control system of the active rectifier. In conditions of deep distortions of the supply network voltage, the operation of an active rectifier with a vector control system is more efficient than with a parametric control system. Originality. Criteria for determining the quality of consumed electricity at the connection point of the circuit are proposed. Practical significance. Recommendations have been developed for the use of active rectifier control systems when working with a distorted power supply voltage.Документ Electronic phase shifting in multipulse rectifier(Sciendo, 2017) Sokol, Yevgen I.; Zamaruiev, Volodymyr V.; Ivakhno, Volodymyr V.; Voitovych, YuriiThis paper presents a novel converter which can reduce the harmonics like the conventional multipulse converters with input three phase transformer. To reduce total harmonic distortion of input current and improve the weight and size of converters, it is suggested to use multi-pulse rectifiers with an electronic phase shift. The basic module is a 6-pulse rectifier on fully controlled switches with the reverse blocking ability. Switching frequency either coincides or is twice the power frequency. The proposed solutions allow refusing from the electromagnetic phase-shifting devices (power transformers or auto-transformers) and thereby significantly reduce the weight of the device. Unlike power factor correction systems with high-frequency modulation, the proposed converters are significantly different, as they have better electromagnetic compatibility and the virtual absence of dynamic switching losses of power switches.
