Кафедра входить до складу Навчально-наукового інституту міжнародної освіти Національного технічного університету "Харківський політехнічний інститут".

Analysis of stress in the conveyor belt (Maxwell-element model)

Purpose. For a conveyor belt, the material of which corresponds to the Maxwell-element model, to analyze the causes of the occurrence of longitudinal dynamic stresses and investigate the peculiarities of the propagation of dynamic stresses along the route of material transportation. Methodology. To calculate the value of static and dynamic stresses arising in the conveyor belt, the apparatus of mathematical physics was used. Findings. A wave equation is written that determines the propagation of longitudinal vibrations in a conveyor belt, the material of which corresponds to the Maxwell-element model. An expression is obtained for calculating the speed of propagation of elastic vibrations along the conveyor belt, the frequency of vibrations and their wavelength. The characteristic relaxation time of disturbances is determined. The method of successive approximation was used to solve the wave equation. The estimation of the characteristic time of acceleration of the conveyor belt, at which there is no destruction of the material of the conveyor belt, is given. Originality. PDE-models of conveyor-type transport systems are improved, which are used to design belt speed control systems under restrictions on speed control modes. It is shown that under the modes of acceleration or deceleration of the conveyor belt, the effects associated with the occurrence and propagation of dynamic stresses along the conveyor belt, due to the characteristics of the material corresponding to the Maxwell-element model, are insignificant. Practical value. The results obtained make it possible to determine the limitations on the modes of acceleration or deceleration of the conveyor belt, preventing its damage and increased wear. This opens up prospects for designing effective control systems for the parameters of a conveyor belt, unevenly loaded with material along the transport route.

Cognitive-linguistic aspects of assessment the level of knowledge and quality of provided educational services in Ukrainian language learning

The article is devoted to highlighting the main cognitivelinguisticaspects of assessing the mastery level of Ukrainian language by students (foreigners and our compatriots) considering to its compliance with requirements of national and international language standards in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the functioning of Ukrainian language as state language” and recommendations provided byCouncil of Europe on language education. Prevailing law of Ukraine requires that persons who intend to acquire Ukrainian citizenship or enter the civilservice must pass an appropriate exam for a certain level of proficiency in state language. Providing the educational services in study of Ukrainian language and/or preparation of applicants to take the language exam is carried out by state and private educational institutions, and exam is held at accredited examination sites, usually located on basis of higher education institutions or using other cultural infrastructure facilities that have required equipment (i.e. Libraries). Last time have become widespread such motivated violations of admission and/or testing conditions as: falsification of documents (certificates, diplomas on the acquired education and/or level of higher language training of the applicant, etc.); receiving illegal benefits by third parties from implementation of various manipulations and abuses. Therefore, the problem of comprehensive assessment of Ukrainian language proficiency level and quality of provided educational services for language training is still essential for today. Summing up theoretical and practical developments in this area will contribute, on the one hand, to strengthening up of security component, and on the other hand, to create natural obstacle to performance of public duties for persons who do not possess a sufficient level of Ukrainian language, demonstrate weakness of their communicative and sociocultural competences, as well as weak culture of business communication. Proposed conceptual and methodological principles of language training consider psycho-linguistic features of systematization and assimilation of language material.

Conveyor belt speed control efficiency using the energy management methodology

The article presents an algorithm for optimal regulation of the step speed using the energy management methodology. Methods of reducing the cost of transport costs for conveyor systems are considered. The perspectives of using the energy management methodology as a tool to reduce the cost of energy are shown. A comparative analysis of energy management tariffs has been carried out. The problem of synthesizing stepwise speed regulation is formulated taking into account the tariffs for energy management. The criterion of quality for an estimate of the effectiveness of the transition to the TOU tariff, differential links, and restrictions on control is written. The Hamilton function for the transport system was determined, on the basis of which the synthesis of an algorithm for step regulation of the conveyor belt speed was performed. To construct differential relations an analytical PDE - model of the conveyor section was used, taking into account the transport delay of the material. The efficiency of the transition was assessed and a qualitative comparative analysis of TOU tariffs was carried out based on the speed regulation algorithm. It is shown that for the effective use of the energy management methodology, a combined control system for the flow parameters of the transport conveyor is required.
Didactic component of teaching foreign languages on future profession: formation of communicational and translation skills

Nowadays higher education focuses on development of learner’s personality, whose proficiency and intellectual potential grounds on obtained knowledge, high moral values, communicative skills, foreign languages mastery, social mobility and competitiveness on labor market. Critical observe and evaluation of adequacy existed didactic component in this area were inspired by statement that your knowledge and cognitive skills can set you apart, due to what you know today will be out-of-date sooner than you even can imagine. Obtained results can be useful for educators and language teachers who work on design and modernization of foreign language teaching process in university.

Effective methods and techniques in competence-oriented approach to international students’ language learning

The article is aimed at the implementation of language teaching methods in the formation of speech activity for international students of higher educational establishments in Ukraine. The research hypothesis implies that the approach to competence formation within the learning process of international students is determined by the principles of personality formation providing the unity of educational components for reaching a high level of professional speech activity and enabling effective interpersonal and team collaboration, systematic and consequent implementing the innovative technologies for activation and optimization of effective methods and techniques of language learning. For realizing the goals of the research, we applied the empirical methods: questionnaires, teachers’ interviews, tests, direct and indirect observation and monitoring of the teaching process, and generalization. The essential differentiating characteristics of methods, principles, and techniques of learning the Ukrainian language along with their realization within the educational process have been defined. Checking and validating the effectiveness of methods and techniques of learning under the conditions of taking the competence approach have been made according to activity communicative criterion and its indexes and levels (higher, average, sufficient, lower). The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results of the pedagogical experiment has been made; the effectiveness of methods of learning aimed at activation of cognitive activity of the international students, improving the quality of professional training, building foundations for a productive methodological system of competence-oriented learning, exploring the techniques of teaching, provide expertise for further applying the acquired skills within professional activity has been proved and validated.

The significance of strategic management in the tourism sector stems from its critical role in the economic and social development of nations. With escalating competition, evolving consumer trends, technological advancements, and external influences, strategic management has emerged as essential for the effective functioning of tourism enterprises. Examining various strategic approaches aids in identifying optimal strategies to attain competitive advantages. This article assesses the current landscape of the Ukrainian tourism sector, pinpointing its primary challenges. Emphasis is pl aced on the repercussions of the pandemic and Russia's full-scale invasion on Ukraine's tourism industry. These crises have precipitated a substantial decline in tourism revenues, alongside the deterioration of healthcare facilities and a notable exodus of skilled professionals. The study underscores key aspects of strategic management in tourism, including the adoption of innovative service approaches, maintenance of service quality, and establishment of partnerships with fellow players in the tourism market. Implementing these strategic approaches is poised to facilitate swift recovery, uphold competitiveness, and foster sustainable growth within the tourism industry.
Game of gender: rethinking archetype theory in light of case studies on intercultural comunication in educational space

Article provides observe of classical theories of gender and archetypal analysis, as like as author’s attempt to apply Jungian classical theory for discovering reasons and preconditions for forming different gender stereotypes and preconceptions relevant to competence level, empathy and level of pedagogical skills within scope of cross-cultural communication discourse. In the article is also discussed Edward W. Said’s concept of “Orientalism” and oriental discourse formation on base of colonial and postcolonial narratives and issues related with gender and coherent with them archetypes. Philosophic anthropological analysis and psychological methodics that were used in research, allow us to discover in historical perspective trends and triggers for changing traditional stereotypes on distribution of gender roles in Western and Middle Eastern societies. Usually notions of gender and sex in traditional societies fix normative imagination and stereotypes coherent with social roles and hierarchy, jobs and allowed forms of religious, political, economical and social activity and taboos for male and female. Social and gender roles on practice are flexible and in the most cases depended on conflicts and related with them inevitable social changes. Numerous psychological theories based on multiplicity of worldviews and cultural backgrounds, that is why they try from different viewpoints to describe why people who belong to traditional societies in different ways recognize their gender and social identity. Thus, concept of gender identity and caused by it changes in social roles performance we have proposed to study as social and psychological categories without focusing on just biological background of this issue. We also used in our research main ideas of Gilbert Durand’s “Imaginer” as theoretical framework for interpretation dynamics of archetypes changing in traditional societies and postmodern communities of Middle East and Europe.
Game of stratagems: archetypal nature of success strategies building

The purpose of the research is to analyze contemporary versions of Chinese Stratagems texts and identify «instant character» of their elements that have semantically close interpretations in different cultures and civilizations, distanced from each other mentally, geographically and chronologically, that helps us to identify their archetypal nature. The research methodology is based on approaches, borrowed from James George Frazer’s works on social anthropology and Gilbert Durand’s instrument «Imaginer» that were joined within canvas of our research methodology with traditional methods of content and event comparative analysis. The scientific novelty of our article consists in an attempt to apply archetypal meta-theory and its instruments for creating concept of intellectual card game «Stratagems» that has passed probation during 2017 – 2019 in frameworks of seminars on economics, theory of international economic relations, management, psychology and applied linguistics in National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». Conclusions. During all periods of human history, numerous issues close related with strategies of sustainable development on local, regional and global levels traditionally were dependent on evolution of spiritual-philosophic domain of mankind being. Contemporary wisdom (global intellectual capital) as balanced set of tactics (theory) and based on them behavioral patterns (praxis) we have defined as interpreted and reshaped eternal knowledge by different civilizations and cultures into variety of sources and forms like games, epic stories, sacral doctrines, legends, fables and folklore. The most interesting and controversial by nature among them are group of works on Chinese Stratagems and their application for different spheres of communication and socioeconomic interactions (policymaking, consumer’s behavior, diplomacy, constructing of quality management systems, administrative management and etc.). Today globalization, as socio-economic and geopolitical process, has faced all contemporary communities with dilemma of making right choice and appropriate strategy in frameworks of interpersonal or intercultural communication (business, bilateral talks, mediation of conflicts and etc.) and also in sphere of administrative management, international economic relations and quality assurance of decision-making process. Thus, our attention focused on mentioned above issues, has being attracted by works devoted to strategic decision-making, crisis management and philosophy of quality management.

History of development of the production association "Kharkiv Tractor Plant named after S. Ordzhonikidze" and related enterprises

The issue of the Kharkiv region tractor manufacturing industry enterprises functioning in the conditions of creation of production associations is considered. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the enterprises’ production associations that manufactured tractors and their parts in the Kharkiv region. The number of materials of the study has been analyzed; the bulk of such materials from the State Archives of the Kharkiv region. The activity of Kharkiv Tractor and Lozova Forging and Mechanical Plants, as well as other enterprises of the tractor manufacturing industry of Kharkiv Region, has been considered in detail. The research focuses on the quality of products manufactured by enterprises, the reasons for the productivity gap here and there are indicated. The issue of combating rejection at the Kharkiv region tractor manufacturing industry has been covered. Attention was drawn to the gradual growth of product quality. It was pointed that the tractor’s industry has not always been rhythmic, as the related companies had not done always provided quality parts and had not done it on time. It was determined that the main model of the tractor manufactured by the Kharkiv Tractor Plant for a long time remained as the T‑150 tractor and its modifications, that it was primarily related to the slowdown in the manufacturing of new, more advanced models of tractors.
Implementation of visual mind mapping strategy to improve students' language competence

The opportunities of the educational process can be expanded through the use of innovative mechanisms. The aim of the work is to determine the effectiveness of teaching as a result of implementing the Visual Mind Mapping strategy to improve students' foreign language competence. The general theoretical method of comparison, calculation of the concordance coefficient, the efficiency coefficient, and the WhitneyWilk test enabled us to achieve the aim. We ensured learning through educational mechanisms, which included visualizing information and developing intellectual activity. We also provided the study of new words, the use of digital technologies (Writer, Rosetta Stone, Busuu), the development of communication skills, and the enhancement of professional skills. It was found among students that using Visual Mind Mapping contributes to obtaining a high level of knowledge in a shorter time. Focusing on the Kirkpatrick model made it possible to establish that most students acquired a high level of foreign language competence after testing their knowledge. The students have a positive attitude to learning using Visual Mind Mapping. The practical significance of the article is the possibility of involving innovative technologies for learning a foreign language. The prospects of further research are to compare learning effectiveness using Visual Mind Mapping for junior and senior year students.
Improvement of methods for description of a three-bunker collection conveyor

The object of current research is a multi-section transport conveyor. The actual control problem of the flow parameters of a multi-section conveyor-type transport system with a given control quality criterion is solved. Algorithms for optimal control of the flow of material coming from the input accumulating bunkers into the collection section of the conveyor, ensuring the filling of the accumulating tank in the minimum time were synthesized. An admissible control of the material flow from the accumulating bunkers is found, which allow filling the accumulating tank, taking into account the given distribution of the material along the section of the collection conveyor at the initial and final moments of the filling time with minimal energy consumption. The synthesis of algorithms for optimal control of the material flow from accumulating bunkers became possible due to the determination of differential constraints in the optimal control problem based on an analytical distributed model of a transport conveyor section. The distinctive features of the results obtained are that the allowable controls contain restrictions on the maximum allowable load of material on the conveyor belt and take into account the initial and final distribution of material along the collection conveyor section. Also, a feature of the obtained results is the consideration of variable transport delay in the transport conveyor control model. The application area of the results is the mining industry. The developed models make it possible to synthesize algorithms for optimal control of the flow parameters of the transport system for a mining enterprise, taking into account the transport delay in the incoming of material at the output of the conveyor section. The condition for the practical use of the results obtained is the presence of measuring sensors in the sections of the transport conveyor that determine the belt speed and the amount of material in the accumulating bunkers.

Influence of electrical parameters of the micro-arc oxidation mode on the structure and properties of coatings

The influence of different power sources of the micro-arc oxidation process on the peculiarities of structure formation and properties of coatings on aluminum alloy AB formed in alkali-silicate electrolyte in the anode-cathode mode is investigated. It is shown that the pulse technology and the anode-cathode mode make it possible to form coatings containing mainly oxides of the α-Al₂O₃ type (corundum) with a high growth rate. It has been established that with a small thickness of the oxide layer, the rate of heat removal both to the metal and to the electrolyte is high; this fact promotes the formation of alumina in the form of the γ-Al₂O₃ phase. The energy concentration in the thick oxidizing layer causes the formation of high-temperature modification of α-Al₂O₃. It is shown that the mechanism of α-Al₂O₃ formation is determined by two factors: the energy difference in the formation of γ-Al₂O₃ and α-Al₂O₃ phases, and the polymorphic high-temperature transformation of γ-Al₂O₃→α-Al₂O₃ in the high-temperature region of the arc discharge.
Information technologies as a means of overcoming social-cultural barriers in the process of international students training

The intensification of the development of digital technologies and their introduction into educational activities has necessitated the use of digital technologies in the educational process of higher educational institutions in order to overcome language barriers in the provision of educational services to foreign students. The purpose of the research lies in identifying the main problematic aspects and prospects for the application of digitalization as a means of overcoming language barriers in the education of foreign students. The methodological base of the academic paper consists of the following methods of scientific research, namely: the method of theoretical analysis and synthesis, analysis and scientific abstraction, comparison and analogy, grouping and cluster analysis based on the kmeans method, generalization and systematization. The results of the conducted research have made it possible to establish that overcoming language barriers in the education of foreign students significantly depends on the level of digitalization of the society and the system of higher education. Intensification of the use of digitalization as a means of overcoming language barriers in teaching foreign students will make it possible to minimize the level of language barriers and ensure the improvement of the quality of the educational process in the online environment through applying digital technologies, as well as create favourable conditions for conducting a simple and understandable language for foreign students.
