Abstract

These methodical instructions are designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary for understanding professional activity in the field of diplomacy, diplomatic protocol, and etiquette. The materials are aimed at supporting the practical component of the course and familiarizing students with the nature, functions, and principles of diplomatic activity, as well as with the norms and rules governing official communication in international relations. Practical classes focus on the development of key professional competencies, including the analysis of diplomatic situations, application of protocol and etiquette standards, interpretation of international practices, and effective professional communication in a multicultural environment. Special attention is paid to the formation of analytical thinking, critical evaluation skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical contexts. The practical component of the course also addresses contemporary issues of diplomatic activity, such as crisis diplomacy, the impact of globalization on diplomatic interaction, the growing role of technology in diplomatic communication, ethical aspects of diplomatic service, and the increasing importance of soft power and symbolic actions in international relations. Assessment of students’ practical work is carried out through a system of ongoing evaluation during practical classes, which allows monitoring the level of material comprehension and practical skill development. Final assessment is conducted at the end of the semester in the form of an exam, providing a comprehensive evaluation of students’ knowledge, practical competencies, and readiness for professional activity in the field of diplomacy and international relations.
