Abstract
The protection of critical military infrastructure is becoming more complex because military installations and supporting defense assets are exposed not only to direct physical attack, but also to sabotage, unmanned threats, cyber intrusion, and hybrid disruption of the services on which readiness depends. NATO’s recent resilience work states that Allies must be able to withstand shocks such as failure of critical infrastructure or hybrid and armed attack, while NATO’s 2025 IAMD policy also stresses that passive measures are necessary to minimize the vulnerability of critical infrastructure and assets. The objective of this study is to determine how intelligent monitoring systems can strengthen the protection of critical military infrastructure by improving early detection, situational awareness, and response coordination under contemporary threat conditions.
