Опытные педагоги написали ряд учебников и пособий, внесли значительный вклад в науку. Выдающиеся ученые, инженеры, технологи, архитекторы, строители, преподававшие в ХТИ, подготовили многочисленных высокопрофессиональных специалистов в области строительства и архитектуры. Труды ученых и инженеров НТУ "ХПИ" известны не только в Украине, но и за рубежом. Кратко рассмотрена деятельность выдающихся ученых и архитекторов: В. Л. Кирпичева, М. И. Ловцова; А. Н. Бекетова, Я. В. Столярова, А. Г. Молокина, П. П. Будникова, А. С. Бережного, А. П. Филиппова, В. М. Майзеля, М. Г. Григоренко, Б. Г. Скрамтаева, А.Н. Душкина и других.In this paper the main stages of the development of scientific and pedagogical activities of creature technical schools based at the Kharkov Technological Institute (NTU "KhPI") are considered: structural engineering, architectural and construction, calculation of reinforced concrete structures, road and track construction, heating and ventilation, materials science, water supply and sewage, construction machines. The fundamental scientific trends of dynamic process of establishment and evolution the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" in the 19–21 centuries were discovered and explored here. The most important phases of formation and development of the research and design school of the NTU "KhPI" are shown. The world-famous scientists and architects who worked at the NTU "KhPI" or graduated it are briefly reviewed: V. L. Kirpichev, M. I. Lovtsov; A.N. Beketov, Ya.V. Stolyarov, A.G. Molokin, P.P. Budnikov, A.S. Berezhnoy, A.P. Filippov, V.M. Meisel, M.G. Grigorenko, B. G. Skramtaev, A.N. Dushkin and others. Schools of the NTU "KhPI" are developing in the direction of the theoretical, experimental and computer studies of scientific and technical problems. Experienced teachers wrote a number of textbooks and manuals, made a significant contribution to science. Outstanding scientists, engineers, technologists, architects, builders, who taught at KhTI, have trained numerous highly qualified specialists in the field of construction and architecture.
