It is argued that existent European meta-frameworks (Qualifications Framework for European Higher Education Area and European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning) not include postdoctoral qualifications (Higher, Habilitated Doctor, Doctor of Sciences) which overbuild above traditional PhD and equivalent degrees.
