The paper emphasises the necessity of forming future managers’ readiness for adaptive management. The author reveals the concept of adaptive management competence; its essence, structure, mechanisms and determinants of its formation, as well as the criteria of assessment of future managers’ adaptive management competence. The author highlights the advantages of competence – activity approach to the modernization of education: it ensures the integrity of the content; allows to organize the process of mastering the content based on the activity; provides a qualitative change in educational system aimed at improving the existing educational practices, which allows to form future managers’ readiness for adaptive management and promotes purposeful self-development under increasingly complex conditions.
