Цей процес від початку був пов’язаний з розвитком руху за права людини, фемінізму, боротьбою за гендерну рівність і недискримінацію. Показано плюралізм підходів до вивчення гендерної історії та визначення її предмету з огляду на різноманітність підходів щодо сутності історії та гендеру, їхньої взаємодії з сексуальністю, тілом, ідентичністю, расою, етнічною та національною приналежністю, колоніалізмом, відносинами влади, панування й підлеглості та значення гендеру в історії.Thе article aims to highlight the foundation of gender history as a discipline and to reveal the process of formation and transformations of the subject of gender history in the research of American, European and Ukrainian historians. From the beginning it was connected with the development of the movement for human rights, feminism, the struggle for gender equality and non-discrimination.
