Pererva [et al.] // Transport Means : proc. of the 28th Intern. sci. conf., October 02-04, 2024. – Kaunas : KUT, 2024. – P. 324-329.https://repository.kpi.kharkov.ua/handle/KhPI-Press/84982The main economic indicators of the Ukrainian transport industry generally characterizing its current state and development prospects are studied. It is proved that the transport industry in each country is one of the most important that impact on economic activity effectiveness. There is a link between different directions and spheres of economic activity, that works as a basic indicator of progressive development trends Ukrainian and global economy. The general state dynamic of the Ukrainian transport services market 2015-2022 is studied, which includes almost all possible modes of transport for freight and passenger transportation: road, rail, aviation, pipeline and water (sea and river). It is determined that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion Ukrainian transport industry has suffered significant losses and its economic characteristics have deteriorated significantly. 318.3 million tons of various types of cargo were transported by all types of vehicles in 2022, which is almost 50% less than in 2021. The cargo turnover volume is 165943.5 million ton-kilometers in 2022, which is almost 47% less than in the previous year. The number of passengers transported in Ukraine by all vehicles amounted to 1.61 billion people, which is almost 40% less than in 2021. Passenger turnover in 2022 amounted to 31.20 billion passenger-kilometers, that is 50.3% decrease. Significant changes in the structure of transport support for Ukrainian exports and imports have been identified. Decrease in the sea and air transportation volume was extent offset by the existing production capabilities of rail and road transport, which in terms of the export-import volume traffic are approaching the pre-war level in 2024. The studying results indicate that in extremely difficult economic conditions caused by the war with Russia Ukrainian transport industry was able to adapt quickly to new conditions, find appropriate capacities and reserves for the restoration and sustainable operation in all sectors of economy. All this has influenced the fact that Ukraine has retained its status as a reliable exporting state in order to be a guarantor of food security for a large part of the world in the future. Proposals have been developed for the restoration and innovative development of the Ukrainian transport system for each of the main modes of transport. The basic (priority) directions of the Ukrainian transport development and prospects for its integration into European community have been formed. It is proved that the intellectual and innovative development of the Ukrainian transport industry should be based on the experience of modern scientific research. There is a proposition to refer to promising world developments (the number of valid patents), which presence and increase trends (in the dynamics of recent years) today determine the main directions of development vehicles and transport support of the world and national transport economy.entransport industryeconomic indicatorsUkrainetransport services markettransportation dynamicsexportimportrecoverydevelopmentinnovationspatentsCurrent State and Prospects of Economic Development of the Transport Industry in UkraineArticlehttps://doi.org/10.5755/e01.2351-7034.2024.P324-329https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6256-9329https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3247-6885https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8246-7135
