Документ Solar shunt active power filter based on optimized direct power control strategy with disturbance rejection principle(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2024) Boudechiche, Ghania; Aissa, Oualid; Sarra, Mustapha; Griche, IssamIntroduction. This paper focuses on a renewable energy system coupled to a dual purpose power grid via a parallel active power filter for injecting photovoltaic energy into the grid and improving the power quality in the presence of the non-linear load. The novelty of the work consists in the combination of two advanced techniques – Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and the optimized Anti-Windup Fractional Order Proportional-Integral Differentiator (AW-FOPID) regulator based on Particle Swarm Optimization with the Spreading Factor (PSO-SF) algorithm, applied to the improved Direct Power Control (DPC) strategy under different conditions related to climate changes and healthy or infected electrical network. Purpose. Its main role is to improve the power quality and reject the perturbations deforming the electrical network under distorted, unbalanced and balanced grid voltage conditions. Besides, the FLC is employed the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) under any weather conditions. In addition, the optimized AW-FOPID controller leads to keep the DC bus voltage at its reference value with small undershoots and overshoots in the voltage with a short response time in steady or dynamic states. Methods. The rejection of disturbances affecting the grid is offered by the improved DPC. On the other hand, an intelligent method based on fuzzy logic was used MPPT under any weather conditions. Furthermore, an AW-FOPID regulator based on PSO-SF algorithm is used to keep the DC bus voltage at its reference value with small undershoots and overshoots in the voltage, while keeping a fast response time. Results. The proposed system control is evaluated in various states of power source: distorted, unbalanced, and balanced by simulation using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness and performance of the studied control strategies.Документ Enhancing power system security using soft computing and machine learning(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2023) Venkatesh, Peruthambi; Visali, NagalamadakaTo guarantee proper operation of the system, the suggested method infers the loss of a single transmission line in order to calculate a contingency rating. Methods. The proposed mathematical model with the machine learning with particle swarm optimization algorithm has been used to observe the stability analysis with and without the unified power flow controller and interline power flow controller, as well as the associated costs. This allows for rapid prediction of the most affected transmission line and the location for compensation. Results. Many contingency conditions, such as the failure of a single transmission line and change in the load, are built into the power system. The single transmission line outage and load fluctuation used to determine the contingency ranking are the primary emphasis of this work. Practical value. In order to set up a safe transmission power system, the suggested stability analysis has been quite helpful.Документ Tilt-fractional order proportional integral derivative control for DC motor using particle swarm optimization(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2023) Amieur, Toufik; Taibi, Djamel; Kahla, Sami; Bechouat, Mohcene; Sedraoui, MoussaIntroduction. Recently, the most desired goal in DC motor control is to achieve a good robustness and tracking dynamic of the setpoint reference speed of the feedback control system. Problem. The used model should be as general as possible and consistently represent systems heterogeneous (which may contain electrical, mechanical, thermal, magnetic and so on). Goal. In this paper, the robust tilt-fractional order proportional integral derivative control is proposed. The objective is to optimize the controller parameters from solving the criterion integral time absolute error by particle swarm optimization. The control strategy is applied on DC motor to validate the efficiency of the proposed idea. Methods. The proposed control technique is applied on DC motor where its dynamic behavior is modeled by external disturbances and measurement noises. Novelty. The proposed control strategy, the synthesized robust tilt-fractional order proportional integral derivative speed controller is applied on the DC motor. Their performance and robustness are compared to those provided by a proportional integral derivative and fractional order proportional integral derivative controllers. Results. This comparison reveals superiority of the proposed robust tilt-fractional order proportional integral derivative speed controller over the remaining controllers in terms of robustness and tracking dynamic of the set-point reference speed with reduced control energy.Документ A comparative study of maximum power point tracking techniques for a photovoltaic grid-connected system(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2022) Louarem, Sabah; Kebbab, Fatima Zohra; Salhi, Houria; Nouri, HamouIn recent years, the photovoltaic systems (PV) become popular due to several advantages among the renewable energy. Tracking maximum power point in PV systems is an important task and represents a challenging issue to increase their efficiency. Many different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control methods have been proposed to adjust the peak power output and improve the generating efficiency of the PV system connected to the grid. Methods. This paper presents a Beta technique based MPPT controller to effectively track maximum power under all weather conditions. The effectiveness of this algorithm based MPPT is supplemented by a comparative study with incremental conductance (INC), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and fuzzy logic control (FLC). Results Faster MPPT, lower computational burden, and higher efficiency are the key contributions of the Beta based MPPT technique than the other three techniques.Документ An improved sliding mode control for reduction of harmonic currents in grid system connected with a wind turbine equipped by a doubly-fed induction generator(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2022) Bouraghda, Skander; Sebaa, Karim; Bechouat, Mohcen ; Sedraoui, MoussaThe implementation of renewable energy resources into the electrical grid has increased significantly in recent years. Wind power is one of the existing resources. Presently, power electronics has become an indispensable tool in wind power plants. Problem. However the associated control usually has an impact on increasing the harmonic distortion, especially on the output voltage. Goal. This paper proposes a new sliding mode control strategy, applied on a rotor-side of a doubly-fed induction generator. The main goal is to meet the electrical power requirements, while responding to the power quality issues. Methodology. The wind energy conversion system must be able to not only track the maximum power point of the wind energy, but also to mitigate the harmonic currents caused by the non-linear loads. To achieve this goal, the power converters are driven by the proposed sliding mode control strategy. The corresponding two gains of the sliding surface are well selected using a particle swarm optimization algorithm. The particle swarm optimization algorithm solves a constrained optimization problem whose fitness function is a prior formulated as the sum of two mean square error criterions. The first criterion presents the tracking dynamic of the reference active power while the second one presents the tracking dynamic of the reference reactive power. The novelty lies in the implementation of the particle swarm optimization algorithm in conventional sliding mode control strategy, in which the proposed-improved sliding mode control strategy is developed. The wind energy conversion system control uses the principal of the vector oriented control to decouple the control of the active power from that of the reactive power. Results. The improved sliding mode control strategy is applied to control separately theses powers in the presence of non-linear loads. The energy assessment of this strategy is analysed using the wind energy conversion system model based on SimPower software. Originality. The obtained simulation results confirm the superiority of the proposed-improved sliding mode control strategy in terms of reference tracking dynamics and suppression of harmonic currents.
