З 1961 р. у ХПІ видається збірник наукових праць "Вісник Харківського політехнічного інституту".
Згідно до наказу ректора № 158-1 від 07.05.2001 року "Про упорядкування видання вісника НТУ "ХПІ", збірник був перейменований у Вісник Національного Технічного Університету "ХПІ".
Вісник Національного технічного університету "Харківський політехнічний інститут" включено до переліку спеціалізованих видань ВАК України і виходить по серіях, що відображають наукові напрямки діяльності вчених університету та потенційних здобувачів вчених ступенів та звань.
Зараз налічується 30 діючих тематичних редколегій. Вісник друкує статті як співробітників НТУ "ХПІ", так і статті авторів інших наукових закладів України та зарубіжжя, які представлені у даному розділі.

    Method for analyzing and assessing the risk cost of an innovative project

    The subject matter of the study is the risks of an innovation project. The goal of the article is to develop a method for analyzing and assessing the risk of an innovative project based on specific risks taking into account the features of a particular project. The tasks to be solved included analyzing the peculiarities of risk management of an innovation project, determining a set of specific risks of the innovation project, developing a system of indicators for risk assessment, developing methods for qualitative assessment of the innovative project risk, developing a method for assessing the risk cost taking into account the features of the innovative project. The following methods were used: the system analysis, design approach, risk-oriented approach, heuristic methods for obtaining generalized indicators. The following results were obtained: the features of the innovation project risk were considered; two ways for accounting the generalized categories of the project risk were presented - relating to external and internal factors and in the context of risk assessment; the main stages of the risk management process were considered; the pattern for classifying specific risks of an innovative project was developed and factors for their assessment were specified; the elements of the pattern were presented in the form of tables indicating scores for probable values of each factor. The maximum score, by which the factors of each risk can be assessed, indicates its contribution to the integrated assessment, therefore, it can serve as a basis for determining relative weights. A type of non-linear relationship between a number of points and the probability of risk is given. The result of the project assessment involves assigning a risk group to it on the basis of the total innovation risk impact. To estimate the cost of a project risk, its innovation class should be determined according to a number of factors within the score scale. The cost of the integral risk of the innovation project is calculated taking into account its probability and the class of innovation. The developed method enables obtaining the integrated assessment of the risk of an innovative project based on expert scores within the score scale and taking into account the class of innovation in the project when assessing the cost of risk.

    Managing the risks of information and communication network in the context of planning the security of critical infrastructure systems

    The subject matter of the article is information and communication networks of critical infrastructure systems. The goal of the work is to create an approach for strategic managing the security of critical infrastructure systems taking into account the risks of the information and communication network. The article deals with the following tasks: determining the procedure of strategic managing the security of critical infrastructure systems, identifying the risks of the information and communication network, assessing the importance and probability of partial network risks. The following methods are used: a systematic approach, cause-and-effect analysis, statistical methods. The following results are obtained: the diagram of multi-level risk management of critical infrastructure systems is developed; the diagram of the step-by-step method of information risks management is developed for increasing the safety of the system; the complex index is suggested for determining the category of information system security; probable variants of the full-factor environment of a set of values of the complex index elements and the corresponding categories of information systems security are analyzed; the process of adaptation of the system as an integral part of the selection and specification of measures for the risk reduction of the information and communication network is determined; the example of the risk assessment of the information and communication network for a software and hardware complex in the automated control system of technological processes is considered. Taking into account the categories of factors, a list of probable risks of the information and communication network and factors that cause them is given; the cause-and-effect diagram of "cause-risk-effect" interaction is created; the total effect of each factor on the final vertices of the diagram, that is possible effects, is calculated; the factors were grouped as the most important, quite important, of mean importance, and inconsiderable ones.
