Abstract

The article describes the opportunities to increase the surface hardness of gear using modern laser technology as a condition for the application of thin hard coatings. In their application starting from the requirement to achieve a certain thickness of the hardened layer. The required thickness of the hardened layer is important not only from the standpoint of improving the load limit face gear as well as the requirement of the hardened layer by applying a solid thin layers of the gears so that they do not break. This article describes briefly the possibility of achieving such layers not only by classical methods, but the article primarily focuses on the possible applications of laser hardening.
