Abstract

The article deals with the researching of the role and importance of D. Vyshnevetsky in Moscow's foreign policy as a conductor of contacts of the state and the Don and Zaporozhian Cossacks communities. An attempt was made to analyze the course of Ivan’s IV government relatively to the downstream of the Dnieper through relationships with lower Dnieper Cossacks, as well as the causes and consequences of these relations against the background of the military and political environment of the Wild Fields. The text of this article may be useful for the investigation of Moscow government foreign policy on the region of Lower Dnieper and Don.
