Abstract
The causes of environmental hazards, and shows the "large" and "small" breaths of light oil storage tanks. Critical analysis of the most common systems in the world to capture and recovery of hydrocarbon vapors. The results of the theoretical calculations quantify the emissions of oil vapor through breathing valve of the tank, as well as the results of a natural experiment to assess concentrations of vapors of gasoline and diesel fuel in the surface layer of the atmosphere at the "big breath" tank. The experiment showed that the "big" breathing RVS-5000 in their 5 meter zone, the concentration of the vapor of gasoline and diesel fuel exceeds the limit, with high concentrations of the vapor fuel is stored at a distance of up to 30 meters. To reduce the environmental hazards in the operation of vessels, grounded organizational and technical measures aimed at reducing emissions of oil vapor from the tanks, by setting the filter elements on the respiratory valve tanks.
