Spectral characteristics and nonlinear optical properties of the polymer materials were studied by UV-vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Morphology of the doped polymer films was observed using scanning electronic microscopy. Quadratic second susceptibilities of the obtained polymer films were calculated according to one-dimensional, rigid oriented gas model. It is shown that the morphology and non-linear properties of the doped polymer films are directly dependent on the dopant concentration.Документ Evaluation of antimicrobial properties of polymer nanocomposites for medical application(Дніпровський національний університет імені Олеся Гончара, 2019) Hopta, O. O.The paper is devoted to the investigation of antimicrobial activity of polymer nanocomposites of both low-density polyethylene and nonwoven polymeric material (a mixture of woven and polyester fibers) that had been impregnated by Cu nanoparticles. Themicroorganisms were grown according to generally accepted microbiological rules and on media recommended for each bacteria family. Formation of biofilms of microorganisms was studied on the surface of microtiter plates for enzyme-linked im munosorbent assay. After incubation of microtiter plates, the culture medium was removed from the wells. The wells were rinsed five times with sterile distilled water. The plates were air dried for 45 minutes and each well was stained with 1% crystal violet solution in water for 45 min. After staining, the plates were washed with sterile distilled water five times. The quantitative analysis of biofilm production was done by adding 95% ethanol for discoloration of the wells. The research shows the antibacterial activity of Cu nanoparticles on planktonic forms of the investigated microorganisms, which prevented the formation of dense biofilms. With the use of low-density polyethylene impregnated by Cu the ability to form biofilms by planktonic cells of the referent strains of microorganisms was detected to decrease by 1.7 (Escherichia coli), 12.3 (Klebsiella pneumonia) times in the studied strains and with the use of nonwoven polymeric material treated by Cu nanoparticles, the ability to form biofilms decreased by 1.8 (Escheri chia coli) – 21.8 (Klebsiella pneumonia) times in the studied strains. In subjecting the formed daily biofilms of referent strains of microorganisms to Cu nanoparticles, the destruction of biofilms of the studied strains of microorganism was observed as well as violation of the integrity of the biofilm monolayer and decrease of density index in comparison with control values. As a result, the obtained polymer nanocomposites can be recommended for preventive use in the fight against nosocomial infections. D.In order to evaluate spectral and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of polymers and polymer composites containing natural hydroxyflavones as chain fragments or dopants, a theoretical analysis of absorption spectra of flavones, as well as calculations of values of their first hyperpolarizabilities and bond length alternation coefficients (BLA), were carried out. It has been shown that embedding hydroxyflavone fragments into polymer chains, glycidylation flavone hydroxyl groups, as well as twisting flavone molecules, result in improvement of optical properties of the flavone-containing polymers, namely in widening their transparency range into short-wavelength spectral region. The presence of basic amino-containing hardeners in polymers and polymer composites leads to a partial ionization of the flavone hydroxyl groups and, consequently, narrowing transparency range. The analysis of theoretical values - first hyperpolarizability values and BLA coefficients showed that natural polyhydroxyflavones are perspective chromophores for development of materials having a high NLO activity.Документ Influence of residual solvent on relaxation behavior of polymer films based on glycidyl derivatives of 3, 5, 7, 3', 4'-pentahydroxyflavone(STS "Institute for Single Crystals", 2017) Mishurov, D. O.Structural parameters and optical anisotropy relaxation dynamics of cross-linked polymers obtained from 7,4'-diglycidyl-, 7,3',4'-triglycidyl- and 3,7,3',4'-tetraglycidyl ethers of quercetin (3,5,7,3',4'-pentahydroxyflavone) are investigated. Values of effective cross-linked density and molecular weight between the cross-linked units, as well as dynamics of after-poling polymer relaxation were analyzed for polymer films containing residual solvent (acetone) and solvent-free annealed samples. It was found that solvent removal leads to growth of cross-linked density and to decrease of molecular weight between the cross-linked units. It was found that relaxation dynamics of polymers based on 3,7,3',4'-tetraglycidyl quercetin does not depend on the presence of residual solvent. Solvent containing polymers based on 7,4'-diglycidyl- and 7,3',4'-triglycidyl ethers of quercetin have substantially faster relaxation dynamic than corresponding annealed polymers.
