State regulation of economic activity of the countries of the world in the field of electricity: experience and prospects
(Global Scientific Trends, 2024) Bilotserkivskyi, Oleksandr ; Sosnov, Ihor
The article is devoted to researching of the experience and prospectsof state regulation of economic activity of the countries of the world in the field of electricity. The authors show that the leading state body responsible for the processes of development and coordination of foreign economic activity in the field of electric power in the countries of the European Union at the current stage is the General Directorate for Energy. In most countries of the European Union, the functions ofelectricity transmission and management of power system regimes are organizationally united and implemented through system operators, which are currently united within the European network of transmission system operators for electricity (ENTSO-E), which performs the functions of planning and coordinating the functioning of energy systems operating in parallel, at the pan-European level. The authors conclude that in Europe and America, the “Single Buyer” model and the model “Liberalized “Single Buyer” are used. In China, the electricity market functions according to the “Single Buyer” model. In India, at the current stage, the “Model of Regulated Access to Power Transmission Networks” is used. In Brazil and South Korea, the presence of the electricity pool model is observed. The authors note that, according to forecasts of the International Energy Agency, by 2035, slightly more than 30% of the world's electricity will be produced from renewable energy sources. EU countries are recognized as the main leaders in the development of renewable energy sources.

The research aim is to study effects of cryptocurrencies inclusion into an in vestment portfolio. To achieve the aim, portfolios with different composition of traditional and crypto assets are to be formed and compared. Methodology. It is proposed to conduct the following steps of the appropriate algorithm of investigating modern opportunities with cryptocurrency market: 1) preliminary analysis of the relationships and interdependencies between traditional assets and crypto assets; 2) formation of the initial set of crypto assets that can be potentially included into portfolio; 3) efficient frontier assessment for portfolios with different initial composition of assets; 4) comparative assessment and result analysis. Findings. The algorithm was implemented for the initial set of five most common traditional assets and ten cryptocurrencies. The latter constituents list was formed according to the value of market capitalization. Than the initial set of crypto assets was reduced according to their multidimensional distances from traditional assets. The results obtained allow to conclude that there are opportunities of portfolio efficiency increase via crypto assets inclusion in its structure. The increase value varies noticeably and depends on the particular kind of crypto assets, their total share and number. Originality. This research suggests to conduct additional preliminary procedures to choose potential candidates to be included into the traditional portfolio among initial set of crypto assets. Firstly, market capitalization value and low correlations with traditional portfolio constituents are taken into account. Secondly, all assets are presented as points in two-dimensional risk-return space and crypto assets are chosen according to the multidi mensional distance measure value.

    Modeling Internationally Diversified Investment Portfolio
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., USA, 2020) Chernova, Natalia; Mashchenko, Maryna; Sergienko, Olena; Bilotserkivskyi, Oleksandr; Shapran, Olena
A diversified portfolio can deliver improved performance and lessened risk relative to not diversified one. The diversification may be achieved in different ways: an investor may allocate money in different asset classes; or in stocks of different industries; or in bonds with different maturities; or in stocks with large, middle and small market capitalization; or in different commodities and so on. Another way is international (global) diversification. The paper aim is to form an optimal investment portfolio containing assets of different countries. To achieve this the following tasks should be solved: carry out a preliminary financial analysis of assets (stock indices) of different countries and determine the set of assets that are eligible for investment; form an optimal portfolio of selected stock indices; carry out a comparative analysis of the efficiency of the obtained portfolio and the benchmark portfolio, which is domestically oriented. The proposed algorithm for modeling internationally diversified optimal portfolio includes the following core steps: forming the information base of the research; classification of assets into homogeneous groups and detecting the group that is suitable for the investment; modeling diversified portfolio and a benchmark portfolio; comparison of obtained portfolios performance.
