Methodological guidelines for the execution of the calculation and graphic task "Calculation of characteristics of a permanent magnet in electric machines"

Abstract

This methodological publication is dedicated to completing the calculationgraphic task in the academic discipline «Electric machines with permanent magnets» for students of the specialty – 141 «Electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics» according to the educational program «Electromechanics». The aim of teaching this academic discipline is to prepare masters and equip them with theoretical and practical knowledge of the peculiarities of operation of electric machines with permanent magnets. As a result of completing the calculation-graphic task and studying the academic discipline, students acquire knowledge of the peculiarities of operation of electric machines with permanent magnets, properties, characteristics, and methods of magnetizing permanent magnets, differences in the constructions of various types of rotors of electric machines with permanent magnets, methods of voltage regulation in generators with permanent magnets, and methods of stabilization of permanent magnets. The study of the academic discipline is based on the educational program for bachelor's preparation. The discipline's curriculum includes lectures, practical classes, and independent work of students on completing the calculation-graphic task. When completing the calculation-graphic task in the academic discipline «Electric machines with permanent magnets» students are required to perform the task in a written form according to the variant number provided by the instructor. The methodological publication includes the course program «Electric machines with permanent magnets» control questions for the course sections, the calculation-graphic task, methodological instructions for completing this task, as well as a list of information sources necessary for studying the academic discipline and completing the calculation-graphic task.
