World strategy on tobacco control and mortality from cardiovascular diseases in Ukraine
(SSPG Publish, 2020) Ognev, Victor Andreevich; Mishchenko, Maryna Mykhailovna; Mishchenko, Alexander Nykolaevich; Shevchenko, Alexander Sergeevich
Since 2003, Ukraine has been participating in the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and has achieved a slight decrease in the number of smokers according to state medical statistics. The decrease in mortality from cerebral stroke and coronary heart disease over the past 10 years is associated with this fact.

About the influence of health care financing, medical personnel’s qualification and staffing to provide medical care for a patients with a cerebral stroke in Ukraine
(ISGT Publishing House, 2020) Mishchenko, Maryna Mykhailovna; Shevchenko, Alexander Sergeevich; Mishchenko, Alexander Nykolaevich
Survival of patients with cerebral stroke, both in the acute period (the “therapeutic window” after a stroke is 4.5 hours) and in the long-term (half a year after a stroke), depends on the quality of diagnosis and medical care. Ukraine is one of the countries with a high mortality rate for stroke patients, therefore, measures to improve medical care are relevant: reducing the shortage and qualifications of the neurological service staff, providing medical institutions with diagnostic equipment and medicines, creating more stroke centers, increasing state funding for treating patients.

Study of risk factors of cerebral strokes according to the data of regional registers and national services of medical statistics
(CPN Publishing Group, 2020) Ognev, Victor Andreevich; Mishchenko, Marina Mikhailovna; Mishchenko, Alexander Nikolaevich; Shevchenko, Alexander Sergeevich
Using the registers of patients with cerebral stroke, the frequency of occurrence of risk factors in various populations was studied. A comparison of the averaged data was carried out, followed by a comparison with the data of national and international prospective studies of stroke risk factors. The main (“significant”) risk factors remain unchanged in any population. Their corrections are attributed to 2/3 of the success in reducing mortality from strokes (1/3 refers to the success of therapy).

About value and study of the various risk factors for the development of a cerebral stroke
(Publishing House "ACCENT", 2020) Ognev, Victor Andreevich; Mishchenko, Marina Mikhailovna; Mishchenko, Alexander Nikolaevich; Shevchenko, Alexander Sergeevich
Regional registers of strokes, heart attacks, and transient ischemic attacks are compiled in a uniform pattern in different countries of the world since the 1970s. They allow conducting epidemiological studies, studying the risk factors for cerebral strokes, developing and adjusting treatment, prevention and rehabilitation schemes for victims, and conducting prospective cohort studies.
