Сучасна назва – кафедра "Українська мова", попередня назва – кафедра української, російської мов та прикладної лінгвістики (від 2005), первісна – кафедра російської мови (від 1954 року).
Науково-педагогічні працівники кафедри викладають для українських студентів різних спеціальностей дисципліни "Українська мова" та "Лексикографія", а для студентів-іноземців – дисципліни "Мова професійного навчання (українська)" та "Українська мова як іноземна".
Кафедра входить до складу Навчально-наукового інституту міжнародної освіти Національного технічного університету "Харківський політехнічний інститут".
У складі науково-педагогічного колективу кафедри працюють: 1 доктор педагогічних наук, 3 кандидата філологічних наук, 2 – історичних наук, 1 – філософських наук; 4 співробітника мають звання доцента.

With escalating competition, evolving consumer trends, technological advancements, and external influences, strategic management has emerged as essential for the effective functioning of tourism enterprises. Examining various strategic approaches aids in identifying optimal strategies to attain competitive advantages. This article assesses the current landscape of the Ukrainian tourism sector, pinpointing its primary challenges. Emphasis is pl aced on the repercussions of the pandemic and Russia's full-scale invasion on Ukraine's tourism industry. These crises have precipitated a substantial decline in tourism revenues, alongside the deterioration of healthcare facilities and a notable exodus of skilled professionals. The study underscores key aspects of strategic management in tourism, including the adoption of innovative service approaches, maintenance of service quality, and establishment of partnerships with fellow players in the tourism market. The purpose of the research lies in identifying the main problematic aspects and prospects for the application of digitalization as a means of overcoming language barriers in the education of foreign students. The methodological base of the academic paper consists of the following methods of scientific research, namely: the method of theoretical analysis and synthesis, analysis and scientific abstraction, comparison and analogy, grouping and cluster analysis based on the kmeans method, generalization and systematization. The results of the conducted research have made it possible to establish that overcoming language barriers in the education of foreign students significantly depends on the level of digitalization of the society and the system of higher education. The research hypothesis implies that the approach to competence formation within the learning process of international students is determined by the principles of personality formation providing the unity of educational components for reaching a high level of professional speech activity and enabling effective interpersonal and team collaboration, systematic and consequent implementing the innovative technologies for activation and optimization of effective methods and techniques of language learning. For realizing the goals of the research, we applied the empirical methods: questionnaires, teachers’ interviews, tests, direct and indirect observation and monitoring of the teaching process, and generalization. The essential differentiating characteristics of methods, principles, and techniques of learning the Ukrainian language along with their realization within the educational process have been defined. Checking and validating the effectiveness of methods and techniques of learning under the conditions of taking the competence approach have been made according to activity communicative criterion and its indexes and levels (higher, average, sufficient, lower). One of the forms of education, gradually covering the institutions of higher education in Ukraine, is dual education. It combines theory and practice, providing a process of acquiring knowledge by the higher education seekers both in the traditional way and during practical work in a real enterprise. The main objective of introducing elements of dual education is to eliminate the main shortcomings of traditional forms and methods of training future professionals, to eliminate the gap between theory and practice, training and production, improving the quality of training taking into accounts the requirements of employers.The purpose of the academic paper lies in analysing the importance and features of developing professional competence of higher pedagogical education in the context of dual education using digital technologies. The research has provided data on the effectiveness of new digital technologies from the perspective of students. In addition, the opinions of students and teachers on the effectiveness of different types of digital tools during the learning process were studied. The results of the research are essential for further methodological development in the process of planning the implementation of this type of tools in higher educational institutions.
