Experience of participation in international projects in the aspect of interconnected processes (problems and prospects) – significance of the human factor
(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2023) Garmash, Sergii
The purpose of the work is to highlight the situation that has developed in higher educational institutions of Ukraine in terms of finding partners for participation in international projects; dynamic changes in the internal and external environments, which are components of the reasons for the decline of this direction; possible development prospects under certain conditions; the influence of the human factor on these processes. National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” has sufficient experience of working in international projects. For its efficient international cooperation NTU “KhPI” was repeatedly recognized as one of the best universities both in the region and in Ukraine on the whole. The situation in finding partners to participate in international projects of general departments is difficult. That’s why, cooperation of general departments with special departments is necessary to involve the former in international projects. If earlier partnership proposals mostly came from foreign institutions, now the responsibilities of finding foreign partners for the institute's (department's) participation in international projects have been shifted to the shoulders of teachers. The direct officials subconsciously learned one of Andrew Carnegie's famous quotes: “The secret of success lies not in doing your own work, but in recognizing the right man to do it”. The unification of the higher education system with the standards of Western countries in recent years has led to the appearance of a whole wave of paper waste that increasingly fills the teacher's living space. But this is unlikely to trouble officials from education, who mainly pay attention to artificial ratings and redistribution of financial flows in this area. Obviously, at all levels, the phenomenon of “negative selection of power” is gaining momentum in all structural subdivisions of any organization, as it has already become an integral trend in Ukraine during the years of its independence, on a par with corruption, personal preferences and nepotism. In the conditions of modern challenges that the question of the competence of human resources is becoing increasingly acute. The ability to make informed decisions, to take responsibility, even simply to remain a decent person become guidelines in times of trials, when real leaders emerge and the real elite of society crystallizes.

Ensuring the Sustainable Development of an Industrial Enterprise on the Principle of Compliance-Safety
    (Universidad de Almería, 2021) Pererva, P. G.; Kobielieva, T. O.; Kuchinskyi, V. A.; Garmash, Sergii; Danko, Taras
This article examines and explains the necessity and importance of studying the conceptual provisions of sustainable development of enterprises and organizations in the real sector of the economy, taking into account the current environmental, economic, social situation. Also, the work is developing scientific and theoretical provisions on increasing the level of safety of industrial enterprises. Special attention is paid to studying the theoretical and methodological foundations of the concept of “compliance-safety” and the development of methodological foundations of its potential use in the current conditions of the Ukrainian economy to increase the level of sustainable development of enterprises in the real sector of the economy. After analyzing the current state, methodological and practical recommendations, which are associated with potential changes in the number of compliance-safety violations in the domestic economy, were formed. In this regard, the scientific community was invited to expand the terminology base by introducing the terms “compliance safety”, which should be formulated based on the current understanding of the term “compliance”, as well as close to the concept of “economic security” and “sustainable development”. This approach makes it possible to significantly impact the sustainability of the development of industrial enterprises and the economy of the state as a whole. Thanks to this definition, it is possible to consider the dynamics of the compliance safety indicator in determining the sustainable development of an enterprise and determine the size and importance of the impact of micro and macro factors on safety. In this work, special theoretical and methodological provisions and methodological recommendations were developed for assessing the value of a comprehensive compliance safety indicator. The authors’ proposals were tested at many machine-building enterprises of the North-Eastern industrial region of Ukraine.

New challenges of modernity for Ukrainian tourist industry (compliance program within the framework of logistics management in the conditions of crisis)
    (2020) Garmash, Sergii; Pererva, P. G.
It should be noted that the global financial crisis of 2008, which affected all spheres of people’s livelihoods, pushed the development of the tourist industry. Governments in many countries have begun to pay more attention to this market segment, as it is this segment that is able to restore its position and profit in a relatively short time. Another situation is with the COVID-19 pandemic. When “deferred opportunities” turn into “lost opportunities”. The aim of the research is summarizing the experience of travel companies in overcoming the negative consequences of crisis situations; tracking the typical trends of the behavior of travel companies in the market for the provision of travel services in such situations and development of practical recommendations for the possible use of a compliance program at a travel company as a part of logistics management. Methodology: while working at the article, the following methods of scientific knowledge were used: the method of unity of analysis and synthesis, method of expert assessments, comparative analysis and systemic approach. Scientific novelty: the implementation of a compliance program at a travel company organically fits into the logistics management system. Practical value: the effects of the global economic crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine have yet to be understood. Many domestic travel companies, referring to force majeure, impose penalties on their customers. In order to prevent corruption in such crisis conditions, it is necessary to introduce compliance programs within the travel industry in the framework of logistics management. This will help to meet the needs of the client as well as the development of the travel company even in times of crisis.
