In article directories are advantages and possibilities of a way of dimensional machining by an electric arc in comparison with a machining method and traditional methods of electric charge machining are resulted. It is presented conditions of use of a way of dimensional machining by an electric arc at manufacturing of the tool for punching and forging. Typical circuit designs of implementation of a way of dimensional machining by an electric arc for manufacturing of working details of dividing press tools, shaped cavities of forging dies are resulted. It is shown that in the conditions of dimensional machining by an electric arc was possibly to produce the working tool of press tools with inoffensive quality accuracy.
