Radiation-induced creation of Rydberg electronic excitations results in formation of stable nanoscale disorders of crystal structure in rare-gas solids. Three techniques of crystal nanomodification were studied: by exciton self-trapping, by trapping of matrix electronic excitations on impurity atom, and by selective excitation of impurity atom Rydberg states. In combination with luminescence-kinetic analysis of processes of accumulation of stable radiation-induced nanoscale structural disorders these techniques may be used for modification of sample crystal structure and for analytical control and certification of growing rare-gas cryocrystals
