Біотехнологічний дизайн тіла: філософська рефлексія культури тілесності в епоху NBICS-технологій

Abstract

Фармацевтичні та біотехнологічні досягнення XXI століття кардинально трансформували уявлення про тілесність, перетворивши її з біологічної даності на динамічний, керований та оптимізований проект. В епоху NBICS-технологій тіло дедалі більше сприймається як інтерфейс, який можна програмувати (CRISPR), оновлювати (мРНК-вакцини), налаштовувати (препарати GLP-1, ноотропи) та персоналізувати (фармакогеноміка) для досягнення максимальної ефективності та довголіття. У роботі обґрунтовується, що ці різноманітні втручання є не просто набором медичних послуг, а цілісним соціокультурним феноменом «біотехнологічного дизайну тіла». Цей феномен аналізується крізь призму концепції м’якої біовлади, яка діє не через прямий примус, а через формування суспільних норм здоров’я, краси та продуктивності, які індивіди добровільно приймають і реалізують. У цій парадигмі здатність керувати власним тілом за допомогою дієт, косметологічних процедур чи прийому препаратів стає маркером соціального статусу та самодисципліни. Технології перетворюють тіло на оцифрований об’єкт, а ідентичність починає залежати від відповідності вимірюваним показникам норми. Базові аспекти людського досвіду, як-от голод, мотивація чи когнітивні здібності, стають об’єктом фармакологічного налаштування, що розмиває межі між особистістю та її біохімічним профілем. У цій роботі розглядаються сучасні наукові досягнення медицини та фармації як ефективний інструмент трансформації тіла і розуміння тілесності. Водночас аналізуються соціальні та етичні виклики, зокрема, як під маскою індивідуального вибору відроджуються ідеї «ліберальної євгеніки», що загрожує поглибленням соціальної нерівності. Фармацевтичні практики розглядаються як сучасні «антропотехніки» – інструменти для самовдосконалення, що стирають межу між лікуванням та покращенням. У цій парадигмі немає принципової різниці між йогою, молитвою та сучасною психофармакологією. Усе це є способами, якими людина тренує себе, щоб досягти певного стану, а вектором цієї «вертикальної напруги» стає екзистенційне бажання в технологічному подоланні власних біологічних лімітів.

The pharmaceutical and biotechnological advancements of the 21st century have radically transformed the understanding of corporeality, shifting it from a biological given to a dynamic, manageable, and optimizable project. In the era of NBICS-technologies, the body is increasingly perceived as an interface that can be programmed (CRISPR), updated (mRNA vaccines), finetuned (GLP-1 agonists, nootropics), and personalized (pharmacogenomics) to achieve maximum efficiency and longevity. This paper argues that these diverse interventions are not merely a set of medical services, but a holistic sociocultural phenomenon of “biotechnological body design”. This phenomenon is analyzed through the prism of the concept of soft biopower, which operates not through direct coercion, but through the formation of societal norms of health, beauty, and productivity that individuals voluntarily accept and implement. In this paradigm, the ability to manage one’s own body through diets, cosmetic procedures, or medication becomes a marker of social status and self-discipline. Technologies transform the body into a digitized object, and identity begins to depend on conformity to measurable indicators of the norm. Basic aspects of the human experience, such as hunger, motivation, or cognitive abilities, become objects of pharmacological tuning, blurring the lines between personality and its biochemical profile. This work examines modern scientific achievements in medicine and pharmacy as an effective tool for transforming the body and understandings of corporeality. At the same time, it analyzes the social and ethical challenges, particularly how, under the guise of individual choice, ideas of “liberal eugenics” are being revived, threatening to deepen social inequality. Pharmaceutical practices are viewed as modern “anthropotechnics” – tools for self-improvement that erase the boundary between treatment and enhancement. In this paradigm, there is no fundamental difference between yoga, prayer, and modern psychopharmacology. These are all ways in which a person trains themselves to achieve a certain state, and the vector of this “vertical tension” becomes the existential desire to technologically overcome one’s own biological limits.
