The Formation of Ukrainian Terminological Lexicon in the Sphere of Physical Research

Abstract

The scientific novelty of the work is that it is the first time in Ukrainian linguistics that the UPT (Ukrainian physical terminology) has been studied in a diachronic aspect. This allows us to take a closer look at the initial periods of its formation and development, as well as to trace the functioning of Ukrainian physical terms created in the second half of the nineteenth and first third of the twentieth centuries. The scientific material also introduces term material from poorly researched sources that have not yet been the subject of special linguistic analysis.
