Abstract

Тhe paper deals with the features of the manifestation of the competitiveness of futurespecialists in machine-building.We draw attention to the difficulties that arise in the process of mastering the contentof the curriculum on the discipline “Resistance of materials” in institutions of higher technicaleducation by students of future machine builders in the process of professional training. The paper contains the results of an analysis of a survey among employers in order toidentify the necessary qualities of engineering graduates who are preferred in the labor market.The paper highlights the place and role of self-educational competence among the needs andrequirements for graduates of institutions of higher technical education. Attention is focusedon the priority components of self-educational competence.
