Cybersecurity challenges and solutions for critical infrastructure protection
(Національний авіаційний університет, 2024) Tkachov, Andrii; Korolov, Roman; Rahimova, Irada; Aksonova, Iryna; Sevriukova, Yelyzaveta
Critical infrastructure can be vulnerable to attack from natural disasters or malicious actors such as hackers or terrorists. If these threats are not addressed quickly, they can lead to significant disruption in service delivery or even complete shutdowns which could have devastating consequences for those relying on them for their day-to-day activities. Therefore, it is important that governments take steps towards protecting critical infrastructure from potential threats by implementing comprehensive security measures both online and offline. Based on a comprehensive analysis of current issues, a decision has been made to ensure the cyber protection of critical infrastructure objects infrastructure. An analysis of cyber threats was carried out in relation to the dynamics of historical retrospective in sectors of critical infrastructure objects. As more and more systems become connected to the internet and vulnerable to cyber-attacks, it is important for organizations to invest in robust cybersecurity defenses to protect their systems from malicious actors. By taking these measures, organizations can help protect their systems from cyber-attacks and ensure the safety of the public. Formulates a model of threats from spills of critical infrastructure objects to cyber-attacks with a breakdown of threats by type. A triad of main actions and approaches for protecting critical infrastructure has been seen. Existing problems in implementing countermeasures and major threats posed to cyberspace actors have been identified. Key factors have been identified to break the cycle of cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure. Based on a comprehensive analysis and formulated concepts, a comprehensive approach to the protection of critical infrastructure objects is proposed in accordance with the management of global trends in the development of threats, threat models, and vulnerabilities of the protection system, a triad of actions and approaches to breaking cycles of cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure.

Design and evaluation of an IOTA-based medical information system
(Національний авіаційний університет, 2023) Shmatko, Oleksandr; Kliuchka, Yaroslav; Korolov, Roman; Khvostenko, Vladyslav; Dunaiev, Sergii
The traditional medical information systems are plagued by issues such as data breaches, lack of privacy, and data integrity concerns. This paper presents the design and evaluation of an IOTA-based medical information system aimed at addressing these challenges. In recent years, blockchain technology has emerged as a powerful tool for securing and managing data in a decentralized manner. One area where this technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we do things is in e-medicine. E-medicine, or electronic medicine, refers to the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely. This includes telemedicine, online consultations, and remote monitoring of patients' health status. IOTA blockchain technology, in particular, has a lot of potential in e-medicine. IOTA is a distributed ledger technology that uses a directed acyclic graph (DAG) instead of a traditional blockchain. The main ad-vantage of this approach is that it eliminates the need for miners and makes the system more scalable, fast, and energy-efficient. IOTA is also designed to be feeless, making it an ideal choice for microtransactions. In e-medicine, IOTA can be used in several ways. One potential use case is for secure and decentralized storage of patients' medical records. Medical records are highly sensitive and contain confidential information that needs to be protected from unauthorized access. By using IOTA's tamperproof and immutable ledger, patients can have more control over their medical records and choose who has access to them. This can be especially useful in situations where patients need to share their medical records with multiple healthcare providers or research institutions. By leveraging the unique features of IOTA, such as its feeless microtransactions, scalability, and distributed ledger technology, the proposed system enhances security, privacy, and interoperability in healthcare information

Practical implementation of the Niederreiter modified cryptocode system on truncated elliptic codes
(ПП "Технологічний Центр", 2018) Yevseiev, S. P.; Tsyhanenko, O. S.; Ivanchenko, Serhii; Aleksiyev, Volodymyr; Verheles, Dmytrо; Volkov, Sergey; Korolev, Roman; Kots, Hryhorii; Milov, Oleksandr; Shmatko, O. V.
On the basis of the practical implementation of the classic Niederreiter scheme for non-binary codes, a pattern has been identified for practical implementation –fixing the admissible position vectors of the plaintext transformation based on equilibrium coding. The obtained set of position vectors of the error vector with a fixed set of masking matrices (the recipient's private key) allows us to obtain the algorithm for decoding the classical Niederreiter crypto-code scheme on non-binary codes. For this, a modification of the crypto-code system (CCS) is necessary. It is proposed to use the additional parameter of key data – the initialization vector (the set of invalid position vectors of the error vector). To counter the Sidelnikov attacks, it is proposed to use modified (shortened) algebraic-geometric (elliptic) codes (MEC). For this, it is necessary to use the second additional initialization vector (the set of positions for shortening the error vector). Based on the modification of the classical Niederreiter scheme on non-binary codes, applied algorithms for generating and decrypting a cryptogram in the Niederreiter modified crypto-code system based on modified (shortened) elliptic codes and software are proposed. To confirm the profitability of the proposed crypto-code system, the results of the comparative evaluation of energy consumption for the implementation of the classical Niederreiter scheme on elliptic codes and the implementation of the proposed system on modified elliptic codes are presented. The results confirm the possibility of practical implementation of the Niederreiter crypto-code system based on the proposed algorithms. At the same time, the required level of cryptographic strength of the crypto-code system, protection of the cryptosystem against the Sidelnikov attacks and an increase in the rate of cryptographic transformations by 3-5 times compared with the classical Niederreiter scheme are guaranteed.

Development of procedures for modifying the cipher GOST 28147
(Національний технічний університет "Харківський політехнічний інститут", 2021) Yevseiev, S. P.; Korolyov, Roman; Tkachov, Andrii; Nimchenko, Anastasia
The entry of mankind into the era of high technologies, the rapid growth of computer technology contributes to the expansion of the range of electronic services. To ensure the security of confidential information, personal data, cryptographic systems of traditional cryptography (symmetric cryptosystems) and public key cryptography (asymmetric cryptosystems) are used. As a rule, the former provides security services, the latter provide key distribution. However, in the conditions of totalitarian surveillance in society by the special services of developed countries, cryptographic tabs are embedded in cryptographic algorithms, which, on the one hand, provide “quick” access for special services to confidential information, and on the other hand, allow intruders to break into the cryptosystem and obtain user data. The article proposes a modification of the well-known GOST 28147-89 algorithm, which ensures the "elimination" of possible crypto-bookmarks and an increase in crypto-resistance in the post-quantum period (the emergence of a full-scale quantum computer that allows hacking modern symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems based on Grover and Shor algorithms). It is proposed to use the procedures for modifying the block-symmetric encryption algorithm (BSEA) GOST 28147-89 (2009, 2015) in OFB mode, which will make it possible to form a pseudo-random sequence based on dynamic changes in the S-box, and provide the required level of security.
