In practice, it should be borne in mind that economic processes which develop under conditions of uncertainty, conflict and lack of objective statistical information are influenced by uncontrolled factors. This fact significantly changes the process of making both strategic and tactical, as well as operational decisions. Risk is an integral part of industrial relations. Since it is impossible to completely avoid risks, they can and should be consciously managed, and not forgetting that all types of risks are interrelated and their level is not static, but constantly changing under the influence of changes in the external and internal environment. The discipline is aimed at mastering the principles and methods of risk management that arise in the process of enterprise’s economic activity. The purpose of the discipline «Risk management» is to provide an understanding of the diversity of economic risks that arise in the process of economic activity, taking them into account in management decisions and developing measures to reduce their impact on performance and its economic mechanism. The objectives of the course include: the formation of the appropriate level of knowledge in students that would allow them to classify the types of risks by their causes, to select methods of quantitative assessment, receptive to each of the types; receiving the theoretical and practical training on risk reduction; mastering the basic methods and models of multi-purpose decision-making under conditions of uncertainty and risk; development of the ability to apply risk management methods at domestic enterprises.
