    Forecasting market needs for new products based on the economic life cycle of goods

    The authors have developed a methodical approach to forecasting market needs for industrial goods on the principles of economic life cycle of the product. Under the economic life cycle of an industrial product, the authors understand the dynamics of production volumes of products during the whole period of his stay in the production program of the enterprise. Proposed and justified a hypothetical curve of the economic cycle of the product, which includes six main stages: product development; development of its production; the first stage of production; modernization of the product; the second stage of production; elimination model. The cyclical nature of industrial production leads to the conclusion that the need for its development also varies cyclically, has its cost-based cycle of life. Moreover, between cycles of life needs and production there is a close relationship that allows the use of historical dynamics of change in time of production and the needs for forecasting demand for new products and to determine the possibilities of its satisfaction through the production. It is proved that the demand for industrial products also has its cycle of life. Interaction life cycles of production and needs allow us to predict these indicators over a long period of time. It is proved that the mathematical modeling of the economic life cycle of an industrial product and demand is the basic definition of the fixing points separating steps. Developed methodical recommendations on determination of the limiting boundaries of the stages of the economic cycle life of the product and the demand for it. Determine the beginning and the end of each of the defined stages. It is proved that the most important characteristic of the economic life cycle of an industrial product and the demand for it is the duration of individual stages of the economic cycle. Recommendations on the definition of these characteristics on the example of production of the main products of power engineering: boilers, steam boilers and pipelines. Developed proposals for the use of the proposed recommendations of the machine-building enterprises.
